Founded in 2018 in the village of Bambakashat in the Armavir region, Jraghatspanyan Winery is a family-run estate led by three brothers. The middle brother, Artem, is the winemaker – a passionate craftsman constantly experimenting and exploring new blends in pursuit of perfection.Their vision is to craft wines that express the unique terroir and grape varieties of Armavir, while embracing modern winemaking techniques that ensure premium quality and international recognition.The first wines were released from the 2017 vintage. The family name “Jraghatspanyan” pays tribute to their ancestral trade – operating a watermill (“jraghats” means watermill in Armenian).
About Artem
Artem, the family’s winemaker, graduated from the Armenian National Agrarian University in 2008, where he wrote his thesis on Armenian red wines. In addition to leading the family winery, he also serves as Head of Brandy Ageing at the renowned Ararat Brandy Company, bringing his expertise and refined sense of balance to every bottle of Jraghatspanyan wine.
