Armenian Indigenous Grape Varieties
The world’s oldest winery, found in the Areni-1 cave in Armenia, shows that Armenians have been making wine for over 6,000 years. Continuing this ancient tradition, we bring you wines rooted in history and legend.
As early as the 4th century BC, Herodotus wrote about Armenian merchants sailing down the Euphrates in round boats made of wood and animal hides, transporting wine to Babylon. These boats, called Koor (meaning “bent” in Armenian), highlight Armenia’s early role in wine trade.
Wine has always been deeply woven into Armenian culture — from joyful celebrations to sacred rituals. Today, Armenia’s wine renaissance revives this heritage with passion and pride.
Taste our wines and join us in the Armenian toast: Kenats! — To life!
