Limited Edition 1 of 1600 Meaning pure in Armenian, Zulal was founded to craft wines that express the purest characteristics of Armenian indigenous grape varieties. ZULAL was founded by Aimee Keushguerian with a vision to rediscover historic, rare grapes. Growing up in Tuscany, always surrounded by her family’s vineyards, Aimee returned home in 2016 to take part in the Armenian wine renaissance to fulfill her long-held dream of having her own wine brand. Due to the careful selection of vineyards, fermentation of grapes in stainless steel, use of local Caucasian oak barrels, ZULAL produces wines that express the peculiarities of the terroir of Armenia and its grape varieties. Only tens of hundred historical grape varieties growing in the Armenian highlands for millennia are used today. Some of them, such as Tozot, Chillar, Koghbeni, Nazeli, Karmir Kot, have been restored and micro-vinified (fermented in small, specialized vats) for the first time by Zulal meeting all expectations.
