Highest quality standards since 1887, Ararat Brandys are produced exclusively by Yerevan Brandy Company, which has been protecting and maintaining the tradition of producing this legendary drink for over 100 years. The brandies are produced exclusively with grapes from the Ararat Valley: Voskehat, Garan Dmak, Rkatsitely, Mskhali and Kangun. If transplanted to other areas, these grapes would not be able to take root, or if they did, they would lose their unique character. The intense aroma and rich flavor of the grapes transfer to Ararat Brandy and develop into a delicate, long-lasting aftertaste with subtle notes of vanilla, fruit and chocolate. The original double distillation method, patented by the Yerevan Brandy Company, allows the unique characteristics of the Armenian grapes to be maintained. This more costly and complex process maximizes the retention of the grapes' aromatic and flavor attributes.The character of Ararat brandy is created during aging in oak barrels. In 2002, the Yerevan Brandy Company resumed the production of its own barrels from the Caucasian oak that grows in Armenia. Since the beginning of the 20th century, Caucasian oak has been known in Europe for its dense, rosewood-like texture, which gives the brandy its natural flavors of vanilla, chocolate and dried fruit. When the grape distillate is poured into the barrels, a reaction takes place with the surface of the wood. This creates the unique bouquet of the Ararat Brandy.

Armenian Brandy was one of Prime Minister Winston Churchill's favorite drinks. He first tasted it when he met Stalin and Roosevelt in Yalta. Subsequently, at Stalin's request, Churchill then received a case of Dvin every month. Until the end of his life, the Prime Minister was a fervent admirer of this legendary Armenian brandy, since Dvin is appreciated by true connoisseurs who can recognize the unique qualities of a great brandy.
